February Parent Night:

This workshop will help our parents teach their children how to lead balanced digital lives by focusing on the connection between brain development and media use with the goal of reconnecting families in today’s digital world. Rising 8th grade Parent Washington DC Meeting:
Please mark your calendars now to attend an important meeting about the upcoming 8th grade Washington DC trip next school year.  It will be March 13 during the Parent meeting in rooms 1113/1114..

Rising 9th grade Informational Parent Meeting:
Please join Mr. Hamilton on March 13 to discuss important information to get your rising 9th grader ready for High School.  It will be in the event center.

Our next BOX TOP collection date is Friday, Feb 2nd!

Thank you for supporting Hickory Grove Christian School by collecting Box Tops.  
Our school earns 10 cents for each box top submitted.  We will have two more collection times this school year on
February 2nd and May 4th. You can help us reach our goal by sending in your Box Tops on those dates.


HERE ARE A COUPLE OF TIPS TO HELP MAKE SUBMITTING BOX TOPS EASIER:
• Ask your family members and neighbors for save them for you.
• Bundle your Box Tops in groups of 50 using a Ziploc bag or envelope.
• Write your child’s name, homeroom teacher and grade on the bag or envelope.


We will give out prizes for the students submitting the most Box Tops in each grade level!

Our school will receive a check based on the number of Box Tops submitted which will be used to purchase items
the school needs.

Report Cards
2nd quarter report cards (1st semester) is available for you to view/print. They will remain open until Friday, January, 19. If you need to print a copy of your child's report card, please make sure you do so by Friday, January 19. This option will be closed by the end of the day on 1/19/18.

 A big DominicanThank you:
Thank you to everyone that donated items to take to the Dominican.  We had 69 seniors and 10 chaperones leave Monday, Jan 8 with 32 suitcases full of diapers, flip flops, book bags, toothpaste, etc. We also received several monetary donations to help feed the families of the Dominican.  Did you know that $15.00 will feed a family of 4 for a month?

Carpool Request
1.We need help getting Kendall home from school. We live in GlenGrove, the Concord/Harrisburg area. This is the Roberta Road, Pitts School Road area. We are happy to compensate for gas money. Folks are welcome to call me at 704.701.4546 if that is easier. Thank you for your help!  (Only need for the month of January)

2.My family is also in need of a driver to take my children home from school in the afternoons. I will pay weekly. There are 2 children, grades 7 and 9. We live only 2 miles from the school, headed west on Harris Blvd.  They have the normal school baggage, plus a large band instrument. Please email Monica at themsubers@hotmail.com. Thank you.

Carpool Request

Dominican Republic Mission Trip Donations

Our Senior Class is headed to the Dominican for our annual Mission Trip. The dates of the trip are January 8-12, 2018. This trip would not be possible without the donations from our Hickory Grove families. Below is a list of items we are asking for students to donate. Collection dates will be Jan 3- Jan 5.
Monetary donations are also being taken to purchase food bags once the students arrive in the Dominican. Students assemble and distribute the food bags to families in the villages and communities while they are there ministering to the local people. A small gift of $15.00 will feed a family of four for one month.

Dominican Republic Mission Trip Donations

Our Senior Class is headed to the Dominican for our annual Mission Trip. The dates of the trip are January 8-12, 2018. This trip would not be possible without the donations from our Hickory Grove families. Below is a list of items we are asking for students to donate. Collection dates will be after Christmas, but while you are doing your Christmas shopping, here are a few things you could pick up for the Dominican people.

Yearbook Personalization
Yearbook personalization forms are due by the end of this week and we will not be accepting anymore personalization orders in the new year.

Chick Fil A fundraiser for Precious Cargo
Please stop by Chick Fil-A on Albemarle Road this Thursday, December 14, from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm. 20 % of proceeds will go towards Precious Cargo ministry.

Winter Performing Arts Concert
Please join us tonight at 6:30 for the Winter Performing Arts Concert.  It is free of charge.

                                 

No Collar for $1.00

Students may wear ugly Christmas sweaters/shirts OR a nice Christmas sweater or shirt to school  on December 6 for 1.00 donation to our fund that will go to provide Christmas gifts for  needy families.
