Last Parent Night of School Year
Please join us for the last parent night of the school year.  It will be held on February 27 beginning at 6:00 pm.  Parents of rising 9th graders, there will be a special session for you to meet and talk with High School teachers to help prepare your 8th grader for High School.

We need volunteers!  Be on the lookout for an email coming from room moms with a link to a Sign-Up Genius. Please commit to helping during that week! ALL proceeds will be used to enhance our HGCS school library!  Every penny made will be used to purchase new books for our students.

Dress like a movie character! Keep your costume/character appropriate, please.
We will cover a variety of topics like sexuality, gender identity, technology, anxiety, and dating. The cost of $10 covers dinner and curriculum.

DNOW 2020

Disciple Now is the biggest weekend of the year for the Student Ministry of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. DNOW is devoted to helping students grow in their personal walks with the Lord as they pursue holiness through worship and gospel-centered teaching.
At DNOW, students are adopted by a Hickory Grove family for the weekend. They stay in host homes with their friends and attend the conference at the church. Students enjoy a time of small group Bible Study and growing closer to the Lord within their host homes

Re-enrollment
Re-enrollment is available now for current students. 
If you are planning to re-enroll your student for the 2020-2021 school year, please note that re-enrollment must be completed through your FACTS SIS Family Portal and MUST be completed on a desk-top computer.  You will not be able to re-enroll on your phone, I-pad, tablet, etc.  

Rising 8th grade Washington Parent Meeting
On January 23, 2020, beginning at 6:00 pm, there will be an important informational meeting with all rising 8th-grade parents concerning the 8th grade Washington DC trip and the fundraising available to help reduce some of the cost.  Please plan to attend this meeting.

Middle School Cheerleading Tryouts

MS Cheer is NOT holding try-outs today. If we can get a minimum of six girls, we can have a team. If we have six sign up through FAMILY ID by TOMORROW, we will hold try-outs on Wednesday.

Open House/Parent Night
Please plan to attend Parent Night this Thursday, November 1 at 6:00 pm in the Worship Center.  Any student in Middle school that received all A's and B's on their report card will be recognized.

The 2018–19 Youth Basketball & Cheerleading season begins in December at Hickory Grove Baptist Church! 

2018–19 Youth Basketball Divisions:
Biddy - Ages 5–6 (Co-ed)
Co-ed A - Ages 7–8
Boys B - Ages 9–10
Girls B - Ages 9–10
Boys C - Ages 11–13
Girls C - Ages 11–12

Cheerleading is for girls ages 5–10.

Registration is from October 14–November 5. Be sure to take advantage of our Early Bird Registration cost of $75 from October 14–28. The cost increases to $85 on October 29.

Winter Sports tryouts

Winter sports tryouts start next week! Make sure you turn in all of your athletic forms (Athletic Physical Form, Athletic Participation Agreement, and Athletic Medical Forms Packet) before the first day of tryouts.

MS Girl's Basketball: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (2:45-4:15)

Winter Sports Informational Meeting

There will be a Winter Sports Informational Meeting tonight, Monday, October 15th at 6:30 pm in room 3012 in the basement of the Education Building. All parents and students interested in winter sports at HGCS should attend this meeting for information on each team, tryouts, expectations, requirements, forms, fees, etc.

Chapel

This Thursday, October 18 will be our monthly Chapel. Parents are always invited. Chapel begins at 9:30 in the Worship Center. Students are expected to be in Honors Dress. All money collected from the offering will be donated to the Hurricane Florence victims

Report Cards

Report Cards are now available t view and print. The last day to print will be March 23.

Golf Tournament

                                 

On April 30, 2018, HGCS will hold our 19th Annual Golf Tournament at Pine Lake Country Club in Charlotte, NC. Over the years, this golf tournament has proven to be one of the most profitable fundraisers for our school. This year the AAA Booster Club has set a goal of $30,000.

Funds from this year's tournament will be used primarily to fund projects such as additional Promethean Boards, a greenhouse for the Aquaponics science lab and for a future purchase of a new video scoreboard in the gym.

We hope you would consider participating or donating to this worthwhile event. There are multiple sponsorship opportunities available for individuals and businesses starting at the $150 level all the way up to $5000.

Spring Pictures Are Coming

On April 16. all Middle school students will have their Spring pictures taken during their Science class. Students must be in school dress code which includes a collared shirt.
