We need volunteers!  Be on the lookout for an email coming from room moms with a link to a Sign-Up Genius. Please commit to helping during that week! ALL proceeds will be used to enhance our HGCS school library!  Every penny made will be used to purchase new books for our students.

DNOW 2020

Friday, March 20, 2020 - Sunday, March 22, 2020
Location: Mallard Creek Campus, 13200 Mallard Creek Road, Charlotte, NC US 28262
Cost: $70.00
Disciple Now is the biggest weekend of the year for the Student Ministry of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. DNOW is devoted to helping students grow in their personal walks with the Lord as they pursue holiness through worship and gospel-centered teaching.
At DNOW, students are adopted by a Hickory Grove family for the weekend. They stay in host homes with their friends and attend the conference at the church. Students enjoy a time of small group Bible Study and growing closer to the Lord within their host homes

Week of October 14, 2019



Operation Charlotte begins on Monday, October 21, 2019. This week is a week designated to serve our Charlotte communities. Students from ALL grades will serve in places such as our HG Food Pantry, Taylor Glen, Brookdale Retirement, Hospitality House, and many more. One of the major events that week is, of course, our Feed the Need Packing Party on Tuesday, October 22nd. If you are willing to volunteer at the packing party, please sign up here.


Chapel
Chapel will be on October 17 at 9:30 am. Parents are always invited. Students do need to be in honors dress code

Makeup Pictures
If your child missed the Fall yearbook pictures, the makeup date will be Monday, Oct 21st.

Report Cards
1st quarter report cards will be available to parents to view and print beginning Tuesday, October 15.  This option will be available through Monday, October 28. 

Student Visitors
For safety reasons, only parents and grandparents are allowed to come and eat lunch with a current HG student.  Any former graduate of HG may come and eat with a student with permission from Mr.Hamilton via email. Once permission is obtained, we will let the front desk and Officer Dan know that permission has been granted.

Parents of 8th graders

There will be one final meeting for the Washington DC trip. Please plan to attend this Thursday,  September 19 at 7:00 am in rooms 3308/3310



It's time to send in your Summer collection of Box Tops for Education.  Our school earns 10 cents for each Box Top submitted.  We will give out prizes to the students submitting the most Box Tops in each grade level!  Box Tops are due by Sept 18th.  Student's name and grade should be written on the bag/envelope and given to your homeroom teacher.  High School students turn them in at the High School office.
A new way to save...get the Box Tops for Education App.  Traditional Box Tops are being phased out of production but may continue to be found on many products.  Just scan your store receipt and our school will be credited online.  Forward a copy of your confirmation email to yjkj4him@carolina.rr.com and designate your child's name for contest credit.
You can earn Box Tops for our school if you shop online at the following places:

Chapel
Please join us this Thursday, September 12 for our first Chapel of the new school year.  Chapel begins at 9:30 am in the Worship Center. Students will need to be in Honors dress.

We are working on a new way to collect box tops this year.  Read the information about the new clipless collection of box tops. Our school is being updated from Hickory Grove Baptist Christian School to Hickory Grove Christian School. You may still use the app with the HG Baptist School address. Start collecting now. Box tops will be accepted through Sept 5.

Fall Pictures
Grades 6-8 will have their Fall Pictures taken on August 27 during Science class.


Box Tops

The Morning Mile
The Morning Mile began Monday, August 19. If interested, students will meet in the Family Life Center at 7:00 and walk or run before school.  Click here for more information about the Morning Mile. It's not too late to start.

The 2018-2019 school year Renweb Parent Portal will be closed on June 7, 2019

For those parents who have not re-enrolled for the 2019-2020 school year and plan on doing so, you must submit your re-enroll application by Thursday, June 6, 2019.   If you do not plan to re-enroll, please note that June 6 will be the last day that you have access to your Renweb Parent Portal and will be able to print final report cards.  If you have any questions, please contact the Admissions Office at 704-531-3589.

For those parents who have re-enrolled, your 2019-2020 Renweb Parent Portal will re-open on Monday, June 17. 

8th Grade "Moving to High School" Celebration

Please join us on May 23 as we celebrate the 8th grader's completion of Middle School requirements as they prepare to "move on" to High School. All middle school students will attend this Chapel. As always, parents are invited. A reception with cake and lemonade will follow the Chapel.


Year-end Details


  • All Chromebooks and chargers must be turned in by May 22. Missing chargers will  incur a $10.00 fee
  • All textbooks must be turned in or a fee will incur.
  • Make sure all lunch accounts are current.  You may contact Joan Helms at joanhelms@hgchristian.org if you have any questions.
  • Make sure all library books have been returned.

End of Grade Testing

PLEASE NOTE: THE DATES HAVE CHANGED.
All Middle School students will be administered the Iowa Assessment from May 13-16, 2019. The test will begin promptly at 9:15.  Please make sure your child is present for the test.

Please join us on May 23 as we celebrate the 8th grader's completion of Middle School requirements as they prepare to "move on" to High School. All middle school students will attend this Chapel. As always, parents are invited.

End of Grade Testing
