End of Grade Testing

PLEASE NOTE: THE DATES HAVE CHANGED.
All Middle School students will be administered the Iowa Assessment from May 13-16, 2019. The test will begin promptly at 9:15.  Please make sure your child is present for the test. 

8th grade "Moving to High School" Celebration

Please join us on May 23 as we celebrate the 8th grader's completion of Middle School requirements as they prepare to "move on" to High School. All middle school students will attend this Chapel. As always, parents are invited.

May 10       7th graders to Carowinds
May 10       Moms in Prayer, 7:50 AM
May 13-16  End of Grade Testing 9:15 AM
May 14       Students with zero demerits will enjoy Middle School Field day at 1:30 PM
May 16       Intramurals: all Middle School students will enjoy kickball
May 17       HG Got Talent Competition, 7 PM, Event Center (cafeteria) $5.00
May 21       Students with zero demerits for the 3rd quarter will enjoy Electronics Day
May 22       8th graders to Defy Gravity/CiCi's
May 23       Chapel & 8th Grade Moving On Celebration 8:30 AM / Last day of school
May 24-August 2   Enjoy your summer
June 1         Enrollment Fee will go up to $500

End of Grade Testing

As always, parents are invited. PLEASE NOTE: This will be the only Chapel in May. The school calendar shows Chapel on May 2.  Middle school will not attend that Chapel.

Week of March 4, 2019


Meet the New Football Coach

 If your son is interested in playing football, please come out to HG tonight at 6:00 pm in room 4102 (Family Life Center) where you will be able to meet Coach Coble and learn about his vision for the football team.

 8th Grade Only

All 8th graders will go see the movie, "Run the Race" March 12.  Please send in $6.00 (cash only) by Wednesday, March 6.

 Missions Chapel

You are invited to attend Chapel on March 14 at 8:00 am to hear all of the God-honoring events that occurred during Missions week.


Night of One Acts

The Night of One Acts is an opportunity for Juniors and Seniors at Hickory Grove to student direct and 8th - 12th-grade students to act.  This is the first year that we have included 8th graders in this important night of acting. Student Directors this year have organized everything from staging to costumes and set construction.  Each student director has an assistant stage manager working with them. Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students.  You may purchase tickets via Brushfire.

 Daylight Savings Time

This Sunday morning at 2:00 am, it's that time to set your clocks forward one hour.

Please note, if you need to contact the Middle Office, the phone number is 704-531-4077.

Absences/Tardies


Please notify the office by email (michelewilson@hgchristian.org) or phone (704-531-4077) by 9 am concerning any absences or tardy's.


"I forgot table"

If your child forgot something, there is a table sitting outside of the old Middle School office that you may place the item on for your child to pick up during class changes.  Unless it is a medical situation, we will not interrupt class time to give a child something they forgot. There is paper on the table for you to write their name on the item.

Announcements for week of August 1

All 7th graders will need the following vaccines before starting school on August 17:

Seventh Grade
  • Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (whooping cough)—Tdap Booster dose of Tdap for individuals who have not previously received it, and are entering 7th grade or by 12 years old, whichever comes first.
  • Meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV)—2 doses
    • One dose for individuals entering 7th grade or by 12 years of age, whichever comes first.
    • Booster dose for individuals entering the 12the grade or 17 years of age beginning August 1, 2020.
    • If the first dose is administered after the 16th birthday the booster dose is not required.

Student Authorization forms are due now.  Click here for the form.  You can either email it to michelewilson@hgchristian.org, or fax it to 704-566-7510.

Back To School Bash.  Join us on August 15 for our Back to School Bash:

  • 4:00-5:30             Meet the teachers, Pick up car tags (Education Building Lobby)
  • 5:30-6:00             Back to School assembly in the Worship Center with Head of School
  • 6:00-7:00             Eat & Greet and games for kids on the field (concessions will be open)
  • 7:00                     Soccer game (free of charge)

Welcome back to school:  August 17.  Car line begins at 7:20.  The tardy bell rings at 7:45.
