Silent Auction

Hickory Grove Christian School has attempted to make it a practice to limit the number of fundraisers that we attempt each year. There are typically two major events each year and one of those coming up next month. The HGCS Dinner and Auction will be held on Saturday, November 5 in the Family Life Center. The auction Preview begins at 5 pm and Dinner/Program at 6 pm. Our speaker is fellow believer and Major League Baseball player, James McCann, catcher for the Detroit Tigers. James has generously waived his speaker’s fee for the evening. He was a standout both academically and athletically at the University of Arkansas and even though he is in his early twenties, he has an amazing life story that I feel certain that you will enjoy hearing.


Would you consider joining us Saturday, November 5? You can help in three ways:
  1. Purchasing individual tickets or a table of eight. Then, invite your friends and family to a wonderful evening while supporting Hickory Grove Christian School (for those purchasing a table of eight, you will be listed as aTable Sponsor on the program)
  1. Helping promote the event on your Facebook page or in conversation with your friends and family

Tickets are available at https://hgchristian.brushfireapp.com/events Click on event 434202 .There are a total of 300 tickets available so let’s fill the gym for James and for HGCS. Tickets go fast for this event so you will want to get your tickets early!

  • Palace Theater Christmas; Show tickets which include a $25 dinner certificate and 2-night stay at Grand Atlantic Resort in Myrtle Beach

  • Amazing Grace mountain cabin
  • Autographed James McCann jersey
  • Class Gift Card Baskets,

7th Grade Upcoming Field Trip

The 7th graders will be going on a field trip to the Renaissance Festival on October 19th. The buses will leave promptly at 8:00 am and will be return by 2:30.  


8th grade Parents

Here are a few more details concerning 8th grade PSAT

  • make sure you child gets plenty of rest the night before
  • please send in a snack and water.  Make sure the snack is not a messy snack, (cheetos, chocolate, etc) 
  • 8th grade students will be dismissed at 12:00

Announcements for the Week of October 10, 2016

IMPORTANT YEARBOOK INFORMATION

Everybody gets a yearbook! The cost is included in tuition and they will be delivered to students during the week of May 22nd.

Personalization is back! If you would like to personalize your yearbook with name stamps and/or icons, fill out the form sent home and turn it in to a teacher or to the school office. You also have the option of personalizing at yearbookforever.com.

An informational meeting for all students and parents interested in winter sports (basketball, cheerleading, swimming) at Hickory Grove Christian School will be held on Monday, October 17 in Room 3012 at 6:30 (Education Center Basement). The meeting will cover tryouts, required paperwork, policies, expectations, and specific team information.

Announcements for the Week of October 3, 2016

Spirit Winners  
It was close with all grades so each grade will be awarded a no collar on the following days:
  • October 6th, 8th grade (applies to shirts only, regular pants must be worn)
  • October 13th, 6 and 7 grades ((applies to shirts only, regular pants must be worn)
